The Pacific Trade Invest (P.T.I.) Australia’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, Caleb Jarvis, is heading to Samoa.

In partnership with the Samoa High Commission to Australia, Mr. Jarvis will be leading a business mission to Samoa from Tuesday 9 October to Friday 12 October 2018.

P.T.I. Australia’s delegation will include buyers, impact investors, Pacific diaspora and labour mobility executives.

Mr. Jarvis said it was vital that the business mission delivers to the needs of Samoa’s private sector and the priorities of the Samoa Government, with the aim of creating tangible outcomes for all involved.

“This mission has been months in the planning,” said Mr. Jarvis.

“P.T.I. Australia has been working really closely with Her Excellency Hinauri Petana and the Samoa High Commission in Australia, early this year we led a scoping mission to Samoa engaging with key Government departments and the private sector. It’s important that our business mission addresses the needs in Samoa.”

“From our initial scoping mission we saw the linkages between export and impact investment to help businesses grow and an opportunity to bring to Samoa a diverse business delegation; identifying key Australian buyers, investors and labour mobility executives who could be a good fit and are wanting to deepen their understanding of the Samoa market and opportunities.”

“We are really excited about the opportunities that are going to occur through connecting our Australian delegation directly with exporters and potential impact investment businesses in Samoa.”

“This is a collaborative mission which will further strengthen the ties between Australia and Samoa, we are very grateful for the support and input of the Samoa Government, the Australian High Commission in Samoa, the Samoa Chamber of Commerce, the Samoa Business Enterprise Centre and the Samoa Association of Manufacturers and Exporters. Working across 16 Pacific Countries we constantly see how local businesses help to drive the economy, the potential impact of this mission through creating and strengthening connections is huge.”

Founded in 1979, P.T.I. Australia is an agency of the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat and is the Pacific region’s lead export and investment facilitation agency; funded by the Australian Government.
