The Moamoa Fou village road has nearly had its extension by the Ott Construction Company completed.

Residents at Moamoa Fou spoke with Samoa Observer on how happy they were with the nearly completed road, on which the company is putting the final touches.

Mareta Tuumalo has been staying in Moamoa Fou for more than four years and she said they've been trying to seek assistance with the road and especially with the Moamoa Ford.

"The work started around the beginning of March, and you see the road is now bigger, it can fit two cars at a time. They're also working on tar sealing the road," said Mrs. Tuumalo.

The road works will make it much easier for people to get to their destination; especially people with vehicles, Mrs. Tuumalo said.

"Vehicles can go back and forth now with this new road, however right now it's really dusty because work is still ongoing as you see," she added.

Residents are really grateful for the road works and they hope their pleas for a bridge to be built over the ford will similarly be granted soon.

"We hope that the bridge will be accepted by the Government, because right now it is still okay to cross over because the river has died down but we cannot predict the rainy days. And all Moamoa residents are aware of what happens when heavy rains strike," she said.
