According to Archbishop Mataeliga, the completion of the project reflects the church members’ commitment to God and their dedication to grow the ministry on earth.

On special days like Wednesday, the Archbishop said it is important to pause and remember the pioneers and apostles who started the church. He said it is important to pay tribute to the vision and the work ethic they put in place so that followers would have a template to guide them.

The church building is 127 years. Among the special guests who attended were the Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and the Masiofo, Her Highness Filifilia Tamasese and some members of Parliament.

Representative of the church and the village’s Member of Parliament, Tafua Maluelue Tafua, said the occasion was a joyous moment for everyone involved in the project.

The church was established in 1889 when some French Catholic missionaries arrived in Sale’aumua.
