Member of Parliament for Faleata 2. Faumuina Wayne Fong celebrated his 60th birthday with families and friends at Vicky’s Motel at Vaitele last Saturday.

The celebration started with a prayer by Reverend Tautua Auilio followed by entertainment provided by the Member's children.

The father of five expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards his wife and children for organizing the event, but not before adding that he is not to host big celebrations.

“The original plan was not to have a celebration, because I am usually not the type to agree to big celebrations but then my wife and children were determined to host a small function which I could not refuse them.

“But the thanksgiving and glory must be given back to the Lord for blessing me with all these years so I can spend with my beautiful wife, children and grandchildren,” he said.

Faumuina added that when a person reaches the age of 60 there are only two options: to keep going forward or to give up.

“At the moment reaching 60 will not stop me – I am determined to go forward in life with that being said I took up politics because of my love for the people of my district, and so I stand firm in serving my people and also work alongside the Government.

“But mind you in life there will always be challenges and obstacles but I truly believe that no difficulty is bigger than our God which is why we must always put Him first in all that we do.

“And lastly, I value my family greatly so another advice to the men, stick to one wife!"
