The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (C.C.C.S.) paid tribute to 11 elders who became pensioners this week.

Held at the Jubilee Church at Malua, the special service was well attended. Among them was the Head of State, Church leaders, government officials, members of the church families and friends from all around the world.

It was a momentous occasion as everyone gathered to acknowledge the services of the 11 church ministers. 

Out of the 11 pensioners, six were Reverend Elders (Faifeau Toeaina).

One of them was Reverend Elder Kaleve Leifi, who couldn't have been happier with his wife Tausunu Leifi right next to him.

They have been serving at the C.C.C.S. at Saipipi Savai'i for 30 years.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, Reverend Elder Kaleve Leifi credits God for everything.

Moreover, he said 30 years is such a long time and there were lot of challenges.

"Such is life, there are challenges and obstacles and challenges along the way.

"But we are grateful to God for all that he has done for us."

He also used the opportunity to thank their families and friends who had been there for them along their journey in the Ministry. 

Reverend Elder Kaleve Leifi is from Lalomanu and his wife Tausunu is from Nu'usuatia Safata. They have been married for 38 years.

They entered the Malua Theological College in 1985.

The C.C.C.S at Saipipi called them to serve at Saipipi on their final year at the Theological school in 1989.

Both of them are looking forward to spend their retirement with their children and relax for now. 

However, Reverend Elder Kaleve Leifi said they will continue their commitment to the church by serving in a different congregation where they will stay.
