New Zealander Jannel Tibutt wanted to know more about Samoa and not just rely on "pictures and descriptions" on websites about the beauty of the country.

Hailing from the world's largest Polynesian city Auckland, Jannel said first impressions are always important and for her Samoa ticks the boxes on that part.

Flying to the country with her husband two kids, the country and its hospitality made an impression on her during her first visit, and now she is of the view that she and her family will become frequent visitors. 

Staying at the Taumeasina Island Resort in the last 10 days, Jannel said the Samoan resort is no different to others in the world, though Taumeasina takes it further with the hospitality provided to the guests by its staff - who are always friendly and happy.

“Taumeasina is beautiful and I really appreciate the warm water, the sea is just beautiful," she told Samoa Observer in an interview.

Having first learnt of Samoa through relatives who visited the island, the Auckland resident said she is on her third visit with her family and she has learnt more about the country, rather than rely on descriptions provided by travel websites. 

The Saletoga Sands Resort and Spa was another hotel facility that she spoke highly of: “It is definitely the place to relax."

When asked to describe more about her family's experience at the Taumeasina, she said the resort staff made her and her family feel welcome and secure. 

“The service and people are very warm and friendly,” she added. 

Jannel added that Samoa's sea, cool ocean breeze, the food and its people will always be the attractions, that would compel her and her family to return. 

Having enjoyed the beauty of Samoa as a genuine getaway, she said they are already planning their next visit to the island. 

“People should know about Samoa and it is important that we promote its beauty not just pictures and descriptions on websites but by actual experience.”
