The Public Service Commission (PSC) investigation into the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration CEO, Papali’i John Taimalelagi and Assistant CEO, Ve’ataulia Fa’atasi Puleiata are still ongoing.

So says PSC Chairman, Aiono Mose Sua in response to questions from the Samoa Observer.

“The investigations are continuing and to ensure fairness to all the parties, I cannot comment any further.”

Last month, the PSC charged Ve’ataulia and former ACEO Galuo Serah Skelton, who was later terminated the same week the charges was issued as per Cabinet approval.

Ve’ataulia faces charges of allegedly misusing Ministry vehicles and staff for his wife’s catering business, and driving a government vehicle without a valid driver’s license. The CEO is facing “misconduct” PSC charges.

The PSC charges are a result of an investigation led by PSC into the security and release of Court files from the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration, internal policies and procedures on managing the use and access of Government vehicles and assessment during daily operations, and to determine any breaches of public service values, principles and code of conduct in the discharge of official duties by any person appointed under the Act.
