The Manager of the Manu Samoa Sevens, Masunu Talapusi, has been bestowed the title of Va’afusuaga from the village of Sa’asa’ai, Savai’i.

Va’afusuaga received the blessings of his family and village as he embarks on his new journey.

Speaking to the Samoa Observe, Va’afusuaga Masunu said he is humbled by the honour.  “I am very happy to see that all of my families are here today to celebrate this special day with me,” he said.

“Living together in peace and harmony is the foundation of any Samoan family and that’s my calling in my family, to be a servant.

“I feel very honoured, very privileged,” he said. “I know it’s not easy, but through God everything is possible. He is sufficient.” Traditional formalities were followed after the blessing of the new title.
