Public servants get half day to promote good health

Public servants received a half-day off work yesterday to commemorate the end of the National Health Week.

The celebration hosted by the Ministry of Health saw government employees in shorts and tees as they gathered with one voice to promote healthy living at Apia Park.

Rather than droning on about the importance of exercise, government officials put their words into action and got to work on the pitch.

The day kicked off with a parade of government officials representing their team colors and banners. The day was jam packed with activities such as Zumba, touch rugby, soccer, and much more.

The overall atmosphere was festive and more of a social event rather than a competitive one.

Friends from different ministries  mixed and mingled throughout the event and was ultimately a great way to get fit together.

Among the participants were the Minister of Health, Tuitama Dr. Leao Talalelei Tuitama, Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Loau Keneti Sio, and other prominent government officials who were delighted to see the massive turnout for the event.

On the other hand, the government employees looked ecstatic to be out of uniform and in their sporting shoes.
