Tagoa'i Tausaga Auelua was yesterday announced the winner of Bluesky’s Top Up $7 tala Promotion major prize and walked off with a brand new Toyota Hilux.

The 55-year-old father of five from Aufaga told the Samoa Observer he was surprised when he was advised that he was the major prize winner.

“I was very surprised when I was notified that I won the car, still today (yesterday) I cannot believe it,” he said and added he would put the new vehicle to good use. 

“I am honoured and very grateful to Bluesky and ASCO Motors to have won this brand new Hilux. I know this vehicle will do well to help my family.”

Bluesky’s Top Up $7 tala promotion, which started November last year and ended at the end of last December, had six other winners who were also announced yesterday. 

The other major prize — a 2019 Yamaha generator 2-stroke gasoline engine — was won by Elena Tito. 

The other winners included Fereti Matamua and Justin Aiafi (who both won a Samsung J7 mobile phone), Nicole Rita and Fiu Tupu (who both won IPhone X mobile phones), and Emele Isoefa (who received a Samsung S9). 

The total value of the prizes eclipsed $150,000 tala with the promotion competition attracting 200,000 entries.
