One of the greatest blessings in life is to serve our parents.

This is the belief of a young fisherman, Moe Iafeta, 23, from the village of Tufulele.

Mr. Iafeta said the only reason he went out fishing was because of his grandmother.

“I come out fishing because my grandmother craves for fish to substitute with chicken and other meat we have been eating throughout the week,” he told the Village Voice.

“My grandmother is old and she always wants fish and I also know for people her age, fish is really good for their health.

“And I know this is the best blessing ever.”

Mr. Iafeta said he was not working at the moment but a few of his family members who were working supported them.

“We also have a few relatives overseas helping us out.

“I am not working at the moment I am just doing chores around the house and cooking and that is my contribution to my family.”

Mr. Iafeta also mentioned that he also loved fishing because most young Samoans today did not have fishing skills.

“Fishing to me is also a good escape from all the pressures at home to just come and enjoy the ocean as it is.”

Mr. Iefata also added that he liked what he’s doing because he believed blessings come from what he’s doing.

“I believe that one of the best blessings in life is from serving our parents and that is why I enjoy looking after my grandmother.

“I also believe this is the best time to appreciate what they have done to me when I was a kid.”
