Samoa leading the way in innovation

Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia has been impressed by the innovations that they have seen occurring in Samoa.

 PTI Australia have spent the last week in Upolu meeting with a wide range of organisations from farmers to producers.

Mona Mato, Manager Export Services, PTI Australia said it was a very full and successful mission. Over the five-day programme the Australian buying delegation visited with over 19 organisations throughout Upolu including a courtesy call with the Australian High Commission. 

 “It’s been fantastic to work with the private sector, the Samoan Association Manufacturers and Exporters and Tupuola Savave Sapolu from the Samoa Chamber of Commerce who has been integral in identifying and facilitating our ability to connect with so many businesses and organisations in such a short time."

 “It’s exciting to see the innovations coming through from breadfruit flower, wild turmeric juice to Samoan designers set to showcase their work internationally. More importantly to see how the growth of these industries and exports are creating more jobs for Samoan people with the money going directly back into the local economy.”
