Woman faces 102 criminal charges

A woman facing 102 criminal charges appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday.

Irene Ruti Si’ititi-Fa’atafa appeared before the Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava'asu'e Falefatu Sapolu.

She has been slapped with 46 charges of theft as a servant, 22 counts of forgery, and 34 charges of false accounting. 

It is alleged the defendant misappropriated money belonging to the now defunct company, Central Corporate Service Limited. 

She was represented by Afamasaga Michael So’onalole with Lucy Maria Sio-Ofoia from the Attorney General’s office prosecuting the case. 

The defendant has pleaded not guilty to the charges with the hearing scheduled for May 2019.
