Police confirm triple suicide

The Police are asking members of the public to call for help, or seek help if they know someone who is at risk from suicide.

The call was made in a media statement it issued last night on its Facebook page, confirming three suicide cases during the weekend.

“Samoa Police Service offers our deepest condolences to the families involved,” the statement reads.

“S.P.S. takes this opportunity to advice members of the public or individuals who are in similar situations, that, you are not alone. 

“If you are feeling depressed and is contemplating suicide, Please call for help! Seek help from your friends, church ministers or family members.”

The first incident took place last Friday at Moto’otua. 

It involved a 43-year-old male.

On Saturday, the police responded to another call regarding a 42-year-old male.

“The matter was reported to police by his family members.” 

Then on Sunday, the Police “responded to a call for assistance and found a 14-year-old male. A gun was involved.

“Police investigations will continue and inquests will be held at the discretion of the Coroner.
