It was a proud moment for Samoa as the Australian beauty industry and Samoa’s Consul General in Australia Fonoti Etuale Ioane came together to celebrate the launch of Misiluki in Australia.

The Misiluki launch was held last Wednesday in Sydney, Australia.

Makeup artists, bloggers and industry influencers all with a passion for organic and natural skincare left the evening with their hearts full and their skin glowing as Misiluki founder Lufilufi Rasmussen shared the story behind Samoa’s luxury skincare range.

Raw organic Samoan virgin coconut oil is at the heart of Misiluki’s range. Inspired by her culture and her mother’s words ‘Loto Alofa’ to do everything from the heart, Mrs. Rasmussen journey began in 2008, countless hours were spent researching, testing and perfecting her products.

The Misiluki range produces its own ethically sourced coconut oil that focuses on farmer centric entrepreneurship.

Misiluki launched with a range of six natural skincare products; Demure Face Oil, Serene Face Serum, Cherish Day Cream, Timeless lip Balm, Brilliant Eye Cream and the Vivacious Foaming Cleanser.

With the support of Pacific Trade Invest (P.T.I) Australia, Misiluki made their first international appearance at the Australian Beauty Expo in August 2016. Jeremy Grennell, General Manager Export, PTI Australia said he is really excited to see how far Misiluki has come.

“I’m so proud of Lufilufi and the team, Misiluki showcases the very best of what the Pacific has to offer,” said Mr. Grenell.

“They are the first luxury skincare brand from Samoa which in both quality and branding stands equal with international skincare brands. The future looks very exciting for Misiluki as they look enter the US market in July 17.”

Founder Lufilufi Rasmussen said she was thankful for the partnerships that have made her dream and the Australian launch a reality.

“Tonight would not have been possible without the support of family, friends and our partners including PTI Australia and the Government of Samoa who believed in my vision and Misiluki. We’ve come so far, my hope is that Misiluki will inspire the next generation of Samoan entrepreneurs to be indigenous innovators and to stand proudly in both their culture and in their abilities.”

Attendees got real insight into the origins of Misiluki and the Samoan culture. Sydney based makeup artist and former international model Jess Berg was impressed by Misiluki’s products especially the ethos behind the Misiluki brand.

“It’s clear what sets Misiluki apart is Lufi, her passion is infectious, I love that her products are natural, but to also hear where the products comes from and that it is helping a community, that’s inspiring.”
