Ieti Leiataua believes life will be easy when you have a stable job.

The 22-year-old lad from Manono says he is desperate for a job.

He told the Village Voice team that the rising of the cost of living has prompted him to search for a job.

Mr. Leiataua said he loves his family which is why he had made some sacrifices for them.

The young man left his studies to look after his family.

“Right now I am thinking of a change, my parents always speak about how nobody ever gets far in life when they do not have a job,” he said.

With his siblings married, Mr. Leiataua has witnessed the commitment and sacrifices one must make for their families.

At this stage, he says, he cannot have a family if he has nothing to support them with.

“I don’t mind any job as long as I am working.”

“I used to work before, but then I stopped and now I have to struggle to look for another job. Staying at home and earning nothing is very hard, even the crops I sell are still not enough to cater for everything that I want,” he added.

Mr. Leiataua says water issues in his home contribute to the delay in his work.

“There are times when the tap is on and there are also times when it does not come on, so during those seasons we rely on the rain.”
