The Samoa Ports Authority (S.P.A.) is looking for a 40ft container that has disappeared from their compound.

This was confirmed by S.P.A. Chief Executive Officer, So’oalo Kuresa So’oalo.

“The container went missing from the Port in March and we are currently looking for it,” he said.

“The container in question has been returned according to documents; however the container is nowhere to be found.

“We have already filed a complaint with the Police to investigate the matter.”

Asked why there were delays in the filing of the complaint to the Police, and So’oalo said an internal investigation was conducted first.

“Internal investigation underwent since March when it was first brought to my attention but it was fruitless, hence the matter being transferred over to the Ministry of Police.

“The official complaint was filed today (yesterday) and we will await the outcome of their investigation and go from there,” said So’oalo.

According to the C.E.O., this is first time such an incident has occurred on the Port.

Police Superintendent and Media Spokesperson, Auapa’a Logoitino Filipo confirmed the matter is investigated by the Police.
