Daughter makes parents proud

First place during prize givings is often celebrated with great fanfare.

Second is not celebrated as much but parents, Vineta and Letiu Tamatoa Penaia, they could not be more grateful for their daughter’s achievements this year.  

Milley Talomotu Penaia was 2nd to Dux at the Leifiifi College prize giving last Friday. 

 “God answered our prayers and our fasting every day,” said Mrs. Penaia. 

Milley is the 5th daughter of eight children to Mr and Mrs Penaia from Vaisala Savaii and Satitoa Aleipata. 

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, she was in tears as she thanked God for his b  The 18-year-old wants to become a Scientist.

“Being a Scientist is what I always wanted to but my dad saw something else in me,” she said. “He wants me to become an accountant and that’s why I changed from Science to Commerce.” 

For now, she says she is looking forward to the holidays.

Milley topped in Year 13 Commerce, Mathematics, Computer studies, Economics and Accounting. She also received the Award of Merit from the Chamber of Commerce.
