The Samoa V8 Club has donated $3,000 to the Home for the Elderly at Mapuifagalele.

On Tuesday, five members from Samoa V8 Club, Fata Paul Loibl, Scott Levi, Orlando Keil, Noel Sanft and Eneliko Pau, presented the donation.

V8 Club Treasurer, Scott Levi said: “This is all for a good cause. Due to a successful Independence Day car show we just hosted, we thought about wanting to give back to the community and we chose Home of the elderly.

“We have done five car shows so far but from the recent one we all agreed we can give some of the proceeds to help others.

“It is our first time doing such a community service and we are really excited to do more in the future,” he said.

Sister Alosia, on behalf of the Little Sisters of the Poor, said: “We thank God for blessing us through Samoa V8 Club. Their donation will assist us with all our financial needs.

“It will help pay our bills, buy food, and assist with the needs to cater for the elderly who are being looked after at Mapuifagalele.

“We pray that God blesses them to succeed in whatever business they run or with anything they need.

“I truly believe that God blesses those who have the heart to give and help others, but do not expect anything in return.

“The 44 elders who stay here are all truly grateful for any support or help given for them.

“We have no funding so with whatever we get, we use that to help in the running of our elderly home,” Sister Alosia said.

The Samoa V8 Club is the first car club in Samoa, which was established in 1998 with five founding members, and now there are seventeen members.
