Man desperate for a job to help family
Saofai Faresa is a 43-year-old man from Tafitoala, Safata.
He sees his purpose in life as a provider for his family.
The problem is that he has been hunting for a job for some time now.
“At first I used to work but the contract is over so what I did up till now is to work on our family plantation just to earn money for my children,” he told the Village Voice.
“Life is hard without a job so as of now I really need a job for my children because all of them are in school and as a father I have to help them.”
Saofai has carpentry skills.
“I know very well that finding a job is very hard,” he said.
“But for the sake of my children, I would be happy to offer my skills for some money to feed my family.”
He understands that caring and providing for five children is not easy.
“Schools fees, water and electricity bills they are all very expensive,” he said.
“But we try developing our plantation so that we can earn enough.
“Selling fruits of the land is what we are depending on but most of the time, the money we earn from that is never enough.”
He said the cost of living is also way too expensive.
Saofai said he will work if he is ever offered a job.
“I’ll make sure that I work hard and smart every day,” he said.
“My children motivates me that’s why I desperately need a job.”
