Team Yellowfin has been crowned the top team of the Samoan International Game Fishing Association for 2017.

After a week-long of competition, the teams have  finally got to take a load off.

At the prize giving ceremony at S.I.G.F.A’s clubhouse on Saturday evening, Yellowfin came away with loads of prizes.

The team came away with a $15,000, 32” T.V. Akira and were the first to win the Tupua Fred Wetzell Memorial trophy.

Their skipper, Roy-Lee came in as the Top Scoring Skipper.

The talented Yellowfin angler, Darren Moore took home a haul of trophies as well.

He  claimed top prize for his monstrous Blue Marlin weighing 207.60 kg and the heaviest yellowfin weighing 57.20kg.

Claiming top place in both categories earned him the title as the Champion Male Angler.

On the women’s side, team Pure Indulgence took home the top prize.

Fishing on Pure Indulgence was Soraya May who possibly set a record when she reeled in her 218.4kg blue Marlin during the Women’s Day competition.

Overall, it was another one for the books and we look forward to next year’s competition.

But it’s not quite all over yet and the best may be yet to come as anglers are getting ready for the first ever Savaii Fishing Tournament this week in Asau.
