Martin Mose is the winner of the 2017 TV1 Star Search programme.

The young man sang his way to the title of Season 14 of the programme in front of a capacity audience at Tuutuuoleloloto Hall on Friday night.

Martin was up against five other contestants including his older brother, EJ Mose who came second.

The six finalists were EJ and Martin Mose, Vaisuamumu Lei’ataua, Maratini Amosa, Jason Nauer and Anthony Atimalala.

The only female was Maratini Amosa of Sauano, Fagaloa, who finished third.

But it was Martin Mose who impressed the Judges and the audience with his vocals and his performance.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi congratulated all the finalists.

He also acknowledged TV1 for the great initiative to encourage the vocalists of Samoa to showcase their talents.

“There is a lot of music talents here in Samoa that needs to be showcased in events such as these,” Tuilaepa said.

The Prime Minister added that the ultimate goal is for these singers to move to the next level and become international stars.

The winner took home a grand prize of $6,000 from the major Sponsor Chan Mow, and other prizes from Samoa Stationery and Books and TV1.
