Moamoa Ward celebrates first anniversary
Monday was a day to remember by the Alafua Ward to celebrate the one year anniversary since the new unit of Moamoa Ward was established.
One year ago, the Alafua Ward was officially divided into two units Alafua & Moamoa Ward.
The Family Home Evening Ceremony was held at the Alafua Chapel and was put together by Bishop Tuasivi Elisara, his counselors and the ward counsel to rejoice in their one year anniversary.
It was also the new beginning for Bishop Tuasivi Elisara who has been appointed to be the new Bishop together with his counsellors Mataniu Fesaesaea’i Fiu and Esekia Esekia.
During the evening, former Bishop Tia’i Fiu made these remarks.
“It was the greatest blessing to be the former Bishop of the Alafua Ward before it became two units.
“I dreamed that Alafua Ward would one day become two, and it happened one year ago today, and again I am dreaming that Moamoa Ward will soon be divided.”
“This shows that the gospel of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father is flourishing upon the earth because of the work members are doing now.
“A ward is a family and a family is eternity,” he added.
Bishop Tuasivi Elisara was also given the opportunity to respond.
“I want to thank each member of this unit for the effort, sacrifice and hard work they put in a year ago that has made this one year anniversary conference a memorable one,” he said.
“Heavenly Father will bless each and every one of us if we continue to labor in his field with all our strength, might and mind. If we continue in faith, love and a testimony in our Saviour Jesus Christ and his atonement, we will be truly blessed abundantly.”
“I challenge and encourage all members to work together in unity, with one heart, one mind and one soul and may our Father in heaven pour His blessing upon us all.”
The ceremony was filled with people from different auxiliaries of primary, youth, young single adults, Relief Society and the Priesthood holders and leaders of the ward.
The session was conducted by the first counselor, Mataniu Fesaesaea’i Fiu followed by a spiritual talk prepared by Niko Simo and riddles said by each member from the different auxiliaries.
