Newly-wed couple, Leanne Cleaver and Stuart Godfrey, is in love with Samoa.

Their love for each other is manifested in their admiration of everything that defines Samoa, with the local culture and people making their choice of Samoa as their honeymoon destination an extra special treat.

The duo from Tasmania, Australia, were most probably trying to look for a shady and windy spot at the Fugalei Market when the Dear Tourist team met them.

“The heat is the challenging part about Samoa, especially when you come from a small island South of Australia and its cold,” Leanne said fanning herself.

According to the couple, the staff members of Sinalei Reef Resort were fantastic in creating a small and traditional honeymoon celebration, something that surpassed their expectation as first timers to Samoa.

Courted for three years before sealing their love, Stuart’s choice of the islands and his intuition that Samoa would be the perfect description of his love towards Leanne, was a checkmate the first day they set foot in Samoa.

The natural scenery, fresh air, sunshine, white beaches and oka were all breathtaking for Leanne and according to Stuart, that is the first step to many more happily married couple days ahead.

“Everything is just perfect. Samoa’s culture and the people are so friendly and are always smiling and welcoming. It’s a safe place too,” Leanne said.

Although they have a 26-year-old child, they would recommend Samoa to travelers who wish to bring their children because it’s a safe place.

They arrived on Saturday last week and they will leave Samoa’s shores on March 10, but before that, they have planned an adventurous stay.

“We will stay in Savai’i for maybe a week and travel around the island before we leave,” shared Stuart.

“This is our first time this side, to Apia and it’s been great, the drive from Sinalei is quite long but it’s great to just walk around town and the people are just friendly,” Leanne added.

When asked of any further comment, Leanne said: “I think the staff at the information center should be friendlier when we visit them.  That’s the only thing we think that needs improvement.”

Nonetheless, Samoa is sure to see them again on their anniversary.
