The life of a hardworking mother was celebrated at the T.A.T.T.E Building at Sogi last Saturday.

The occasion was Akesa Rimoni Uesi’s 85th birthday.

Attended by her families and friends, the elderly mother was honoured for her commitment to raise her family against all the odds and the challenges.

Mrs. Uesi was born in Asaga Savai’i. Her parents are the late Rimoni Uesi and Suesa Uesi.

She has roots in Tonga, Gataivai and Asaga, Savai’i.

She is one of eight children, with only two of them alive today. The other one is Merenaite Aiafi.

In Mrs. Uesi’s younger days, she said she wove mats and learnt how to sew to earn money to raise her family.

Her faith and her trust in the Lord helped her fulfill her dreams with the success of her only son, Tinifu Semisi.

She is blessed with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
