The residents of the Home of the Aged at Mapuifagalele were the happy recipients of a $2,000 donation from the Bank of the South Pacific and Taumeasina Island Resort yesterday.

The money was jointly presented by the B.S.P. Samoa’s Country Head, Taituuga  Maryanne Lameko-Vaai and the General Manger of Taumeasina Island Resort, Nathan Bucknall.

Mapufagalele’s representatives, Sr. Maureen Mokaya and Sister Lucy, accepted the money.

Mr. Bucknall said Taumeasina is very proud to work with B.S.P to help the Home and he couldn’t think of people more deserving of the help.

“We will be also having lunch with the new sisters coming next month here at Taumeasina who help in the general care of the elderly fathers and mothers.”

Sister Maureen Mokaya thanked B.S.P. and Taumeasina, acknowledging their generous donation.

“Thank you so much to both companies for having the heart of helping to develop our own people,” she said.

“It’s a really good spirit we have here in Samoa and I’m proud to stay here. We are grateful with the help and thank you so much.”
