Samoa great family destination

Nicky Mary from Palmerston North, New Zealand, chose Samoa to escape her busy life. She’s in Samoa with her husband and her two kids aged 10 and 7 just to get a prefect family time.

And Samoa for her has delivered just that and more.

As a first timer, she loves Samoa.

“It is just relaxing and a good place to just chill. The people are friendly and they are so good with the kids. I just do not worry about anything not about the kids or the time.”

“I just forget about the time. I just absolutely enjoy it here. It is not like home, going to this and that and always being busy,” Nicky shared her experience with Dear Tourist.

“We were swimming in the pool on Tuesday evening and we did not realise that it was about 8 o’clock already. So we were like, we have to go and feed the kids. They were with us in the pool and then they came out like, oh I am hungry.”

“The time does not really matter here in the paradise. The kids are already a little bit older and playing around.”

“The kids love them (Taumeasina Island Resort staff),” Nicky said.

“The entertainment for the kids was brilliant. They set up a movie for them and played bingo. So the kids have really enjoyed it here as well.”

“Even just leaving the kids play alone at the beach is not a problem.”

The family arrived last week Friday and left on Wednesday evening. They were here for six days.

“It was pretty easy to reach Samoa for us,” Nicky said.

They thought about coming to Samoa earlier.

“Samoa is not this promoted in New Zealand, it would not have been our first decision to come here just because we did not hear so much of it,” she explained.

Nicky has already been to Fiji and Rarotonga.

They have been to the Piula Caves, swam with the turtles and seen the waterfall.

“The kids loved that they jumped of the waterfall. In Fiji, they did not have this kind of activities.”

They also went on a tour around the island.

“The turtles have been the highlight here. Even just going on the boat was already really cool. We saw the turtles and tried to keep up with them, but they were too fast.”

“The kids found the crayfish and they built them a house, they called it the crape hotel. They spent ages doing that,” Nicky said.

“The people are lovely, just polite, you feel so welcomed and they are friendly and just beautiful. I really do not like thinking about going home.”

“My foot was hurting and swollen, but as soon as I came here and swam in the ocean, it got better.”

“You just forget what you need to do back home because when you come here, you are suddenly on island time. You go from a busy place to one where time just stops,” Nicky said.
