Petrol prices take a big dip, diesel goes down, while kerosene prices are slightly up in the new fuel prices for December announced by the Ministry of Finance.
The prices are in effect from 1 December 2025.
Petrol has decreased by 5.1 sene per litre, dropping from $2.97 to $2.92 per litre. Diesel has seen a slight decrease of 0.6 sene per litre, moving from $3.11 to $3.10 per litre. Kerosene is the only product to rise, with an increase of 1.0 sene per litre, changing from $2.69 to $2.70 per litre.
The December prices are based on October cargo uplifts from Singapore, delivered into Apia in November.
According to the Ministry, it has been another month of uncertainty for global fuel markets. Prices first rose compared to the previous month, then fell as concerns grew over a potential global oversupply.
"Ongoing US–China trade tensions also added pressure, affecting economic growth expectations and weakening energy demand. Prices began to recover in late October," said the Minister for Finance Mulipola Anaroa Ale-Molioo.
"Throughout 2025, crude oil and refined product prices have been influenced by several global factors, including the Ukraine war, the impact of US tariffs, and OPEC+ supply positioning. These have all contributed to moderate volatility in Samoa’s final retail pricing."
