Samoa is on top of the destinations of choice for the Yoon family from American Samoa.

Olivia Yoon and his family are spending the holidays here and they are loving the place.

American Samoa might be similar to Samoa but Yoons know they are worlds apart. This is why they have chosen to come here for Christmas.

Their place of preference is the five star Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel in Apia where Dear Tourist caught up with them.

According to Olivia, Upolu has so much to offer to visitors from American Samoa.

“This is the fourth time that we have visited Samoa,” said Olivia.

“In American Samoa we run a business and this is only the time of the year that we get to go away and spend quality time as a family.

“Coming to Samoa and spending Christmas here was a great choice. We are relaxed and we‘ve enjoyed every moment as a family”.

There are many great facilities in Samoa, there is an array of restaurants to choose from and there is so much more to do.

But there is more.

“One of the reasons we love coming here is because the people are so friendly,” he said.

“We just loved the environment, the vibes in Samoa during this time.

“We have been to the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum. It was a beautiful place because we only heard and seen on the internet stories about Robert Louis Stevenson but it was much better that we got to visit his house and see some of his belongings.

“We have also been to the Flea Markets to see the many locally made handicrafts which shows just how talented the Samoan people are in making these handicrafts.”

When the Yoon family return next year, they will add Savai’i to the list.

“Samoa is a beautiful island. We are definitely coming back.”
