A pregnant woman driving a seven-seater minivan was evacuated to the hospital yesterday after a crash at Vaimoso. The minivan collided with a bus.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, an eyewitness said he was in his house when he heard a really loud thud.

“I then walked out to see that the minivan was on the other side of the road,” he said.

“I was told that the van came to turn to the right on the other road so I am not so sure of what had happened. The driver of the minivan is a pregnant lady.”

He shared that there should be something done to the sharp curve at Vaimoso which for him has been one of the places many car accidents occur.

“There have been many car crashes that happen here and just a few weeks ago there was also a car crash that took place here at the same time.

“The sharp curve on the road is one of the reasons cars crash. There should be something that is to be done to the road because the curve is too sharp and there are so many cars that drive along this area.”
