The Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (S.A.S.N.O.C), has welcomed a volunteer from New Zealand’s Volunteer Services Abroad (V.S.A).

Thoraya Abdul-Rassol has arrived in Samoa to work as a Support Officer for S.A.S.N.O.C’s staff and National Federations. She will be assisting and supporting the implementation of our Strategic Plan 2015-2019.

Ms. Abdul-Rassol is a graduate from Victoria University of Wellington and has extensive knowledge and skills in IT, as well as experience in management.

Her skills and knowledge is sincerely welcomed by S.A.S.N.O.C as the organisation continues to improve its communication and social media connections.

In conjunction with her other roles and duties as Support Officer, Ms. Abdul-Rassol will be managing the Monitoring, Assessment and Planning (M.A.P) Division of S.A.S.N.O.C.

This is where all the programmes and projects, especially the Strategic Plan 2015-2019, are being reviewed, assessed and realigned to meet the needs of staff, National Sports Federations, and most importantly, athletes and the development of sports in Samoa.

Ms. Abdul-Rassol will be working at S.A.S.N.O.C’s Head Office at Tuanaimato until November 2016 when she returns to New Zealand.

“S.A.S.N.O.C acknowledges with sincere thanks the kind support from New Zealand through the New Zealand Volunteer Services Abroad (V.S.A) programme for this opportunity to have Miss Thoraya Abdul-Rassol supporting us in our quest to develop sports in Samoa,” a statement from S.A.S.N.O.C says.
