L.T.A. needs to raise awareness now

Dear Editor

Re: Metered Parking-a good initiative

The new initiative introduced by the Government for the development of Samoa is a good move.

My one cent contribution to this issue is for L.T.A. to raise awareness for the information of the public way ahead of time.

As always, the public will have different views and opinions but eventually they will support the initiative if the message is well disseminated.

Secondly every parking lot should be clearly marked, and not just the township area.

Street cameras should be installed for monitoring purposes; otherwise it will be another waste of taxpayers’ money on these expensive machines.

“Parking meters is the way of the future.”

That is the message from the Government, and it’s the people’s responsibility to contribute for a better Samoa.

Changes are good as they introduce new systems and process as a way forward, and this too will increase the government capacity to introduce more good things if only all have the same sense of humor and value such assets.

As many argued this will add to financial difficulties, I totally agree but most importantly it is our role as a society to support and  work together for the betterment of our country.

Without our collective effort, we cannot improve our living standards and social conditions.
