Defending wooden buses

Re: Wooden buses

I can recall another wooden bus accident where it was swept off the road and into the river Mali’oli’o in Savai’i. I believe only one child died but the rest survived because the bus broken up and that allowed the passengers to escape, if it was a metal bus, they would all have drowned.

This accident, another passenger was saying that she was pulled from under a wood after another passenger lifted up the board pinning her head down.

And they kicked out the wood at the back of the bus and made their way out of the bus.

Again if this was a metal bus no one could kick out any part of the bus in order to escape.

“There was also that mindset the aiga buses are one of Samoa’s iconic transportation meaning this attracts tourists.”

Many tourists have talked fondly of our unique bus and way of transportation when they seek some true Samoan experience.
