Christmas spirit visits Campus of Hope

Much-needed monetary and clothing donations have been presented by Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B.) to children at the Campus of Hope.

The monetary donation valued at $1,500 was presented alongside boxes of clothing donated from members of the public.

S.S.A.B., launched last year a charity project after discussions between the Samoa Victim Support Group (S.V.S.G.) on areas that the Tuanaimato-based humanitarian organisation needed assistance with.

The project calls on the public to donate clothes, whether new or second-hand, for children who are campus residents.

However, as part of commemorating S.S.A.B.’s 13th birthday and celebrating its “Feel the Love at S.S.A.B.” promotion this year, the company wanted to present monetary gifts and clothing donations to S.V.S.G. this Christmas.

A representative from S.V.S.G., Niutuiatua Onesemo received the donation from S.S.A.B last week.

Mr. Onesemo was elated to receive the donation and said that the timing for this monetary gift and clothing donation is perfect as it is Christmas time and children at the campus do need to be taken care of during Christmas.

More than 50 children at the Campus of Hope will benefit from the donation.

The monetary gift was generated from orange flowers sold at all S.S.A.B. stores for three months and S.S.A.B. acknowledged the support from its customers who bought orange flowers.

The donations of clothes were from the public in response to a request by S.S.A.B. posted on Facebook; all donations were dropped off at the company’s Togafu’afu’a headquarters.

The President and Board of Directors for S.V.S.G. conveyed their well wishes to the Chief Executive Officer of S.S.A.B., Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai, her management and staff for their continuous support for many years.

This donation is the third time S.S.A.B. has implemented a clothing donation to S.V.S.G. this year and the company plans to do this again next year and urges for the community’s continued support.

The C.E.O. of S.S.A.B., Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai acknowledged the support from all the valued customers of S.S.A.B. and good Samaritans who always help with the charity coordinated and spearheaded by the company.

Tofilau also wished the President, Directors and staff of S.V.S.G. a very merry Christmas especially the children who are at the Campus of Hope; may this Christmas bring so much love and joy.
