U.N. project in corruption probe

A six-month Samoa Observer investigation has uncovered serious corruption allegations leveled against the Apia Office of the United Nations Green Climate Fund whose USD$65 million Vaisigano Catchment Project is finally under a formal corruption investigation.

More than six months after the Samoa Observer first raised the alarm, a Green Climate Fund (G.C.F.) spokesman, Simon Wilson, finally confirmed on Wednesday evening that suspicions of corrupt practices were hanging over the potential misuse of resources by its main environmental project in Samoa.
