May the God of our faith bless you Mr. Orlando Huaman!

Dear Editor,

Over the past years, I have read Orlando Huaman’s many attacks on our Christian faith including his latest in the last week regarding the alleged contradictions in the Bible.

I empathize with the brother who wrote “Challenge to Orlando Huaman” for even I find it extremely difficult to resist the urge of entering into an all-out theological confrontation with Mr. Huaman with the back-and-forth letters to the editor that that would inevitably entail.

I have, however, decided firmly against that for it is not worth arguing with people such as these for the Bible clearly states “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14) So you see; no unregenerate human being can ever comprehend the things of the true God, because it will always appear “foolish” to him.

Finally, I would just like to point out to Mr. Huaman what is undoubtedly the greatest and far-reaching “contradiction” of our Christian faith – the Grace of Jesus Christ.

Yes that’s right! Even though we are a wretched and sinful race that is rightfully destined for the eternal lake of fire, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) That is what GRACE is: Love poured out on us that we BY FAR do not deserve. I pray every day that God grant me more and more and more of that contradiction.

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” (1 Corinthians 1:25)

May God Bless you Mr. Huaman. I say that with all sincerity and hope that one day the contradiction called the “Grace of God” will find you too.
