Two months on, no arrest over Vaitele hit-and-run

Two months after an 18-year-old student was left for dead on the roadside after a hit-and-run incident Police are yet to make any arrests or provide an update on their investigation into the crime.

The Police Ministry has not provided any details of the status of their investigation into Tuuau Faasavalu's April death.

Emails and calls to the Ministry of Police and Prisons Commissioner, Fuiavaili'ili Egon Keil, were not returned on Thursday.

To date, the Police are still appealing for the public to provide information about the case and the driver of the vehicle that killed the university student to step forward and take responsibility.

Tuuau Faasavalu or Ituau, as he was known to friends and family, was found lying on the side of the road at Vaitele's Maali Street in the early hours of 21 April and declared dead on arrival at the Tupua Tamasese National Hospital at Motootua.
