Family's plea for missing man leads

A Moamoa family is pleading for members of the public to help them locate 20-year-old Lolesio Pani Togia who has been missing from the family home for two days.

The family had received a tip about Mr. Togia's whereabouts that took them to Best Value in Vaitele but they could find no sign of their relative.

Mr. Togia has a mental disability and his family has been fraught with worry since he disappeared from their Moamoa home on Wednesday.

His aunt, Toa’i Sheck, said they received a tip on Friday morning that placed her nephew in Vaitele but the family could not locate him.

An earlier tip off had located him in Savalalo on Wednesday.

“So still now we are looking for him…we just returned from following up on some information we received from Vaitele this morning but we did not find him there,” said Ms. Sheck.

“He left the house on Wednesday. When we woke up on Wednesday in the afternoon around 2 pm, he was gone.

"So we have been looking for him since. Someone also said they spotted him at the market in Savalalo but we don’t know who has him or even if he is with someone.”

Family members published posts on Facebook early this week pleading for help in locating Mr. Togia.

“We didn’t beat him or anything, nothing happened, we just need to find him because he has a mental disability. He answers to the name Lolesio and is anyone asks him for his name he gives them the shortened version and says his name is Sio.

“People in my family have already made posts on Facebook so we really need some help in finding him please.

"Any information in relation to him and his whereabouts, please call the numbers we have provided. We will come over and see for ourselves if it is in fact Sio.”

The unsuccessful fruitless Vaitele tip-off came in on Friday morning, Ms. Sheck said.

“A boy told us he saw Lolesio with an older man at Best Value in Vaitele so we tracked the information and requested to see the video footage at Best Value but he wasn’t in the video footage,” she said.

“But somebody saw him in front of the Best Value store in Vaitele.“

Mr. Togia lives in Moamoa but he is from Sataua, Savai’i.

When last seen by his family, he was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of blue long pants. He has a pink and red backpack.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lolesio Pani Togia is asked to contact his family at any of the following numbers: (685) 761-9085; (685) 776-7461; (685) 710-8400 or (685) 759-4795.
