P.M. sought advice on pre-election Facebook bans
The now caretaker Prime Minister sought advice from the Samoa Law Reform Commission about whether other countries had banned Facebook six months prior to their general elections, a letter obtained by the Sunday Samoan shows.
The legal advice from the Samoa Law Reform Commission’s Executive Director, Teleiai Dr. Lalotoa Mulitalo, to the Prime Minister said while other countries had not imposed such bans, she did suggest other means of using existing law to regulate social media.
