F.F.S. chief's position to be advertised shortly

The chief executive officer position at the Football Federation Samoa is still vacant.

The position became vacant when following the resignation of former C.E.O. Seve Dr. Folototo Seve late last year.

F.F.S. President Papalii Samuel L. Petaia, said in response to questions sent by the Samoa Observer, that the national soccer governing body will start putting out advertisements advising of the vacancy shortly.

"Position has not been advertised and will be out shortly,” he stated in an email to this newspaper.

“We will let you know when it comes out if you are interested in applying.”

But the vacancy in the key position within the organisation has not stopped the F.F.S. from going ahead to roll out its programs for this year as it is understood some of them are already underway.

Their F.F.S. Fun Football program has already rolled out to selected primary schools such as Salelesi Primary School, Manunu Primary School, Laulii Primary School, Faleapuna Primary School, Vailele Primary School, Solosolo Primary School, and Saoluafata Primary School.

Not only for Upolu but their teams in Savaii are also on the move.

The federation also has center programs that focus on the development of football skills for children between the ages of 10–13 years old. One of the important aspects of the centre's program focuses on technical skills as well as discipline.

The former C.E.O. Seve was very active in all the events hosted by F.F.S. during his brief term in the office.

These included the development of the code and its expansion into Samoa’s rural areas through the Upolu East, Upolu West and Savai’i regions marking the federation’s first foray into villages.

Seve was appointed on 6 January last year and resigned at the end of December 2020, clocking less than 12 months in the office.
