Police plead for help locating missing seven-year-old

The public has been asked for help in locating seven-year-old Junior Ben, a child with a disability who went missing in Savai'i after Christmas.

The child, also known as J.B. Samuelu, went missing from his home at Fogasavaii three days ago, on 28 December.

On Wednesday morning, the Samoa Police Services made a plea to the public for assistance in locating the youngster.

“He was last seen wearing white shorts with no shirt. Junior Ben aka J.B. is a child who has a disability and his family is anxious to find him,” the Police said in a statement.

“If you have any information that might lead to locating Junior’s whereabouts, please contact a nearby Police station or call 22222.”

The missing child notice comes two weeks after 56-year-old Taoipu Vaigafa went missing from his home in Samusu Aleipata.

The Police also made a public appeal in locating Mr. Taoipu who has been missing since 8 December.

“When he failed to return home his family and relatives have been trying to locate him but all attempts made have so far been negative. Taoipu is a person who has a mental condition/disability and his family is anxious to find him,” the Police notice said.

There have been no updates from the Police on the search for the middle-aged man.
