The Football Federation Samoa's Congress, which had been scheduled to be held on Friday at Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel, has been postponed.

This was confirmed by the Communications Officer for the Football Federation Samoa, Angela Pauga Lafaialii, who said a new date will be announced when it is confirmed.

"Yes, it has been postponed," she said in an email to the Samoa Observer.

The Communications officer did not say why the meeting has been postponed.

But the Congress was supposed to be the last event their outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Seve Dr. Folototo Seve, was scheduled to attend.

Seve had recently resigned from the role, prior to the completion of his first term.

The intended venue was also flooded on Friday.

FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, sent out a message of encouragement to all 211 of FIFA’s member associations (MAs) via videoconference as the FIFA Congress convened remotely for the first time ever.

With 211 affiliated associations, FIFA supports them financially and logistically through various programs including Samoa.

The bad weather on Friday canceled most of the events including the football congress. The Federation has not revealed a new date for their congress to take place.  Sheraton was also flooded on Friday due to the heavy downpour on the day.

During this congress, the FFS will present their reports on all their events throughout the year.
