Travel between Savai'i and Upolu was disrupted on Monday morning due to bad weather conditions. 

It followed a severe weather report issued by the Samoa Meteorology division at 5am, which alerted the country about heavy rain and flooding. The first voyage was scheduled for 6am.

"A low-level circulation analyzed earlier this morning; Northwest of Savai’i embedded within the broad area of low pressure," the advisory said. 

"The system continues to move Southeast; a convergence zone associating with the aforementioned circulation locate over Samoa with wet weather conditions, gusty winds, and gloomy weather for today. 

"Therefore; the heavy rain warning and flood advisory remains for the island group."

The Samoa Shipping Corporation Limited published a notice on their Facebook page on Monday morning, informing the public about the changes for the scheduled times of trips between the two islands. 

"Please be informed due to bad weather conditions, scheduled times for trips between Mulifanua and Salelologa for today (Monday) will be changed," the notice reads

"We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused but pray for your understanding."

Another public notice was posted on the S.S.C.'s Facebook page two hours later to inform the public that the afternoon trips were back on schedule. 

"Please be informed that the 2 pm and 4 pm trips to and from Upolu and Savaii today are back on schedule."
