The Football Federation Samoa has confirmed the top eight teams who will be vying in the F.F.S. Premier National League - both women and men's this week and next week.

Papal'ii Le Mamea said the winners will represent Samoa in the Championship League next year.

For the men's Premier league, the teams are Lupe o le Soaga, Vaipuna, Vaitele Uta, Vaivase Tai, Sogi, Kiwi, Faatoia United, Togafuafua, Vaiusu, Moataa, LFC, and Moaula.

The Women's team are Moataa, Kiwi, Lupe o le Soaga, Faleasiu, Faatoia United, Lotopa, Adidas, LFC, Saleimoa, Vaipuna, Vaivase Tai, Sogi, and Togafuafua.

"This is the elimination round to determine the four teams who will compete in the semi-finals, and lastly to our finals on the 28th November, where the team that wins will get the chance to represent Samoa in the next Championship league. Lupe o le Soaga is the defending champ so they are the first game for tonight," added Papalii.

This is the last tournament for the football federation for 2020.

"This is going to be our last competition," he said. "We will start again in 2021. So far, with our four-months-and-one-week tournament, it has really improved a lot. The sport continues to grow and there are more people participating in our tournaments too."

He mentioned that there are a few changes to the top eight teams this year, as some teams are new like Vaipuna, Togafuafua, and others, but the others have always made it to the top eight.

"Some familiar teams on the top eight are Lupe o le Soaga, Moataa, and Kiwi, but Kiwi has dropped their place in the standing. They have always been second or third but they have gone down to the sixth place. Hopefully, they'll do great," he said.
