Nafanua regatta unites community
The success of the Nafanua Kalapu Alo Paopao regatta last week was that it brought the community together to do something they are passionate about.
Nafanua President, Taualai Fonoti, said the event was a great success but that could not have happened without the participation and support of everyone involved.
"Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2020 Vodafone Nafanua Halloween Regatta," he said.
The competition was divided into two divisions, the Business House and Samoa Outrigger Canoe Association.
About hundreds of people were gathered at Mulinuu on the day of the event, even businesses involved had their own cheering squads who were on the seawall watching the live race.
Alo Paopao enthusiasts welcomed the opportunity to have a day of fun.
"I love watching Alo Paopao, and honestly this is a very fantastic competition," said Rudolf Vincent.
Mr. Vincent was with his family watching the race from inside Sails Restaurant and Bar at Mulinuu.
