Local firm Kriegs Tattoo and Barber Shop and local music group Poly Flavour have made a donation to Samoa Victim Support Group's Campus of Hope at Tuanaimato.

The donation included books, clothes, food, free hair cuts for the children and free performance by Poly Flavour at the humanitarian organisation's premises on Tuesday.

According to Christopher Krieg, the owner of Kriegs Tattoo and Barber Shop, this was their second donation to the S.V.S.G. as they also made a donation a month ago in the form of free hair cuts for the children.

"We went there before, like a few months ago but then we had planned to go back before White Sunday which was why we went on Tuesday," he said.

"We gave the kids clothes, books and a lot of food and Poly Flavour helped in food donations as well.

"Last month we had gone to SVSG and offered free hair cut for the children."

Mr Krieg said that members of the Poly Flavour wanted to join them when they found out about their plans to return to the facility.

"We’re really close with the boys from Poly Flavour and so they wanted to join us when we planned to go do free hair cut for the kids," he added.

They gave free haircuts to more than 20 children on Tuesday with Mr Krieg describing the gesture from his staff to the children as very emotional, even when they parted ways.

"We were very emotional just being with the kids and also when the kids said goodbye," he said

Poly Flavour performed on the day and sung a few songs to entertain the children.

"We want to give back to those in need through our talent and our work. We want to give back in any way that we can to help those who are in need of help," Mr Krieg added.

Poly Flavour took to Facebook describe their experience interacting with the S.V.S.G. residents.

You know every day we go through our own challenges, we tend to think ... why is this happening to me me me ...
yet we tend to forget that others have it worse

We were humbled by the experience
Svsg not only did you open our eyes but also our hearts
Melted at the sight of the hard work you do ❤️
Our prayers go out to each and every one of you especially the children❤️ that you all find peace ❤️

Til we meet again ❤️
We will be back
Much love to everyone involved ❤️
