The students of St Joseph’s College delivered a donation to the home of the elderly at Mapuifagalele on Friday afternoon.

The donation is part of the college’s annual charity work and a way of service for the students to the elderly at Mapuifagalele.

In an interview with the vice-principal I’asa Lisale, he said that the donation on Friday was a priority for the school which all the students and teachers shared in making it possible.

“The students contributed to put together the donation while the teachers contributed in terms of the provision of hot meals and food,” Mr. Lisale said

“The donation delivered on Friday was about $2,000 in total plus an additional $1,500 which the students had put together.”

The Head boy, deputy head boy, class leaders of each class and teachers represented the whole school in delivering the donation.

According to Mr Lisale, the college’s charity work includes other activities such as cleaning lawns for families but due to COVID-19, they had moved to provide for Mapuifagalele.

“Other activities delivered by the college for their charity work include landscaping work and cleaning lawns, however this year, we're unable to do so because of COVID-19 but instead we’ve decided to make a donation to Mapuifagalele as they are in need of assistance,” Mr LIsale added

Mr. Lisale thanked the parents on behalf of the college for their continuous support in the college’s activities for their charity work.

“Even though we know that there is also the school fees but they were able to provide the support and contribution requested,” he said

“I also thank the students and staff for their efforts in delivering the donation on Friday.”
