The Sheraton to Sheraton relay on Saturday proved a popular race for some of Samoa's most avid fitness enthusiasts and runners.

The race started from Sheraton Samoa Hotel and Bungalows on Beach Road and finished at the Sheraton Samoa Mulifanua.

The Athletics Samoa team, managed by Leiataualesa Tai'i Brunt, won the contest with a time of 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 3 seconds.

The run started at around 6am with teams aiming to reach their destination before the midday heat.

Most of the teams managed to achieve that, with the Athletics Samoa team reaching the finish line before 9am.

Each team consisted of eight runners with each runner required to run just over 4kms.

Once all the runners arrived at the finish line, the organiers of the race, Digicel and Sheraton Samoa, put together some fun activities which brought the community to enjoy the resort and have fun.

The day was designed to attract families for a day of fun and to enjoy the weekend. Some of the teams backed up from the Perimeter relay two weeks ago.
