Local events company, Hana’s Limited, has celebrated its first anniversary despite the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 global pandemic and the state of emergency in Samoa.

Company staff gathered at their Saleufi premises on Tuesday to mark 12 months since the opening of their doors on 9 September last year.

Hana’s Limited General Manager, Kika Leung Wai, said she can recall the many challenges they faced over the last year but persevered and worked hard and had faith in God to overcome their hurdles.

“One year in operation which we are celebrating today is testament that this is only the beginning,” Ms. Leung Wai told the media.

“We opened last year around the time of the measles. Hana’s Ltd is humbled to celebrate our first birthday!

“Thank you especially to our dear customers, our team and also our families. It is because of your generous support, we are able to celebrate this milestone.”

And despite the challenges that lay ahead with all the uncertainty brought on by the global pandemic, Ms. Leung Wai said they are optimistic about the future.

“We specialize in supplying a wide variety of resources and ideas for any event. We look forward to what the next 12 months and the future holds but we standby with commitment and hard work and our trust in the Lord to assist with our journey.”

She also added that the company was named after Hana Leung Wai who started a store in town "We have 12 workers and we have witnessed an increase in the number of customers and their feedback and queries have helped the business improve its services and operations over the years."

The business is running specials for the whole month of September as part of their birthday celebration.
