The Tag Incorporation has confirmed their first ever tag series called the Taula Tag Series on Saturday and comes after authorities relaxed state of emergency [S.O.E.] to allow contact sports.

Samoa Tag Incorporated President, Junior Siafuloa Leota, said the launching of the series on Saturday will mark the first major sporting event since the coronavirus [COVID-19] global pandemic.

"Taula Beverage and Tag Incorporated presents their first tournament ever since the lock down started, and we are hoping that it would be a successful turn-out and it's good to finally get the ball rolling again," he added.

"Out of our three tournaments which were supposed to be held this year, only one is going to push through which is our Teuila festival tournament. But international tournaments have been cancelled.”

The Taula Tag series will be held at Apia Primary School on 1st August 2020 and will comprise a four-week series.

"It is a four week tag series, and the managers for the teams participating will meet up on Thursday night to confirm the teams that will be vying for the Taula Shield," Junior added.

He further reiterated that the purpose of their tournament is to have good exposure for their players, strengthen and can build up women and men who have interest in the tag sport.

“This is one of the best sports for everyone as it is a non-physical contact sport," he added.

They also acknowledged Mr Enele, Carol and the whole Taula Beverage management for their support, especially as the naming right sponsor of the series and are looking forward to a great tournament on Saturday.
